“…run Glsetup from to automatically download and install the latest and greatest video driver. Please note that this game is rated 18 by the BBFC. When I went to play a demo that I downloaded from the internet, it came up with “GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem” and that comes up every time I install new games with that little console window when you start the game.

I am a full time gamer with crap stuff and I installed WinXP full install. I can’t stand it anymore and the original Jedi Knight has only so much replay value. I have downloaded and installed Opengl95.exe in case for some reason the files were missing.

The native drivers don’t allow me to change the card’s DualHead settings and the Win2K drivers make the Display Properties crash. The troubleshooting guide from JKII says that a dual display should be disabled or OpenGL won’t initialise properly. Quake 3 runs fine with the native WinXP drivers. When I use the Win2K drivers, the game crashes with no error. When I use the native drivers, the game crashes to the desktop with an error.

I have run these games with both the native driver for my graphics card included with WinXP and the Win2K drivers from Matrox. When I run newer OpenGL based games ( RTCW, JKII: Outcast), the game will not load. Currently I have WinXP Pro installed and I’m using a Matrox Marvel G400-TV graphics card.
